Why Membership?
We believe that from the earliest followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, believers have identified with and committed themselves to a particular local body. In light of this understanding, Hope Ottawa affirms the value of formal membership.
How Do I Become A Member?
First, get an informed sense of who we are: Step 1 is an informal meet-and-greet where you'll meet some of our leaders, hear about who we are as a church, and ask any questions you may have. Step One takes place online several times throughout the ministry year. The date of the next class will be announced in our service and updated on our website a few weeks prior to the class.
We believe God describes clearly in His Word what an authentic Christ-follower looks like and how they are to spend their time. Step 2 is a class that takes a deeper look into what we believe as a Christian community and seeks to equip you to live out the Christian life here at Hope Ottawa.
Step 3 is to connect in discipleship and serving. We firmly believe that you thrive as a follower of Jesus when you take steps to serve and belong to a community of believers. After all, this is God’s design for your life. If you’re calling our church home, then we want you to get involved and truly belong to our family! Pursue Christ in community through baptism, joining a Small Group, and joining one of our many service teams. You must be actively involved at Hope for a minimum of 6 months before applying for membership.
Step 4 is to complete our Understanding Church Membership Class. This is a requirement before applying for membership. You can get info and register for the upcoming class below.
Once you have completed Discover Hope Steps 1 & 2, have been baptized as a believer in Jesus Christ, are presently part of a small group, are presently serving in a ministry, have completed the Understanding Church Membership Class, and are 18 years old or older, fill out the Membership Application Form below.
