Church Family Update
June 18, 2021
“Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.’”-John 15: 20

Hope Ottawa,

What an incredible joy to pray as a Church this past Wednesday! As we opened up Psalm 118 together, it was a beautiful sound of thanksgiving the to the Lord for His faithfulness for what He has done in and through us this past year. Truly, the Lord has done this and it is marvellous in our eyes. This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! Jesus is faithful. Jesus is good. Jesus is loving; and Jesus is reigning for His glory! We cannot wait to exalt His Name together as a Church family this Sunday. Press in!

What a challenge the above verse is to us who seek to live our lives for the glory of Jesus Christ! What are we placing as true value in our lives? Will you please join us, and many other Christians all over Canada, in prayer that the Lord, in His sovereignty, would allow us to re-gather in person in His time and way; and use this request for His glory to advance His kingdom as He sees fit. As the Lord leads you, feel free to sign the petition and continue to pray for God to move. Thank you for your prayers.

“According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it.”-1 Corinthians 3:10

Hey Hope Church!
As any good builder knows, the right blueprint and the quality of materials impacts the quality of the product. They impact the structure’s durability, reliability and longevity if it is to withstand all that it will face. The same is true for Christ’s Church. Jesus, the Head of the Church, has given us His blueprint; and has instructed us to build upon Him as the foundation like skilled master builders using gold, silver and precious stones by His power at work within us. But what is the blueprint and what are these materials? What does Christ tell us to build with if the Church is to be healthy, and built up in Him? This is where we are headed this Sunday. Don’t miss it! Here is what’s happening this weekend and beyond…

“’Nor do you understand that it is better for you that one man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish.’”-John 11: 50

Hey Hope Church,
What is going on!?!?!? That is a question that I have heard many times over this past year, as this world continues to be shaken by elections, conflicts, a pandemic and increasing social unrest. It is easy to look around and doubt the sovereignty of God over each event and wonder how He could possibly use each thing for His glory and the good of those who love Him. Yet, even though we may be tempted to doubt and tempted to put our hope and trust in other people or things, rest assured Loved One: Jesus is on the throne. He is sovereign and is working all things, at all times according to His perfect plan and purpose. He is in complete control. But the question facing us each day is, “Will you trust Him?”  This is what we are diving into this weekend. Let’s go! Here is what’s happening this weekend and beyond…

January 7, 2021
“Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.”-2 Timothy 1:13

Dear Hope Family,

As we press into 2021, it is important to answer the question of, “What does your life show you are most passionate about?” This is a critical question for this reason: What we are most passionate about is what we pursue the most! Yet, out of all the things that are beckoning for the pursuit of our desires, affections and energy, there is only one that will steer us through these days and will not fail to satisfy us with the hope, joy and peace that we long for. What is it? This is where we are headed this weekend. Don’t miss it!  Here is what’s happening…

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”-Matthew 5: 16

Happy New Year Hope Church!

Here’s the greatest news as we head into 2021: The light of the world is shining brightly and the darkness has not and will not overcome it!  Jesus Christ is alive and that changes everything today!  Here is more great news: He is alive in each of us who are saved in Him; and we are called to let our light shine before others! As we head into 2021, I pray that we are increasingly filled and fuelled by the faith, power, love and hope that we have through the gospel; and that others would see the light of Christ shining brightly and be drawn to Him! Hope as a way of life! Go Lord! Here is what’s happening this week and beyond…

Hello Hope Ottawa!

It was so good to gather together for our ‘Evening of Hope’ last night. Worship through song, through the Word, through prayer and through baptisms. Christ’s Church coming together as one, every tribe, every tongue and every nation united in Him and calling on His Name. Truly, it was a snapshot of heaven. I pray that your hearts are encouraged, refreshed and strengthened in the hope that we have through the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus is building His Church and the gates of hell are not prevailing against it! Also, here’s great news: We get to come together again this weekend! Don’t miss it! How can we be growing increasingly in living it out? If we do have freedom in Christ, then why is it such a struggle to live it out? In short, what does it mean to live a life that is free indeed? Get ready loved ones. It’s time to open our Bibles and find out! Here is an update for what is ahead this Sunday and beyond…

Church Family Update #36
Re: Covid-19
November 6, 2020

“But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ,”-Philippians 3:20

Hello Hope Ottawa,

With all of what is happening in the world around us it is easy to lose perspective, lose joy and ultimately, to lose hope. As the events of this past week have shown us, we live in a world that is increasingly divided. Yet, for true disciples of Christ, we can rest securely in the faith and truth that this world is not our home. We are citizens of a kingdom that cannot be shaken and will not be filled with chaos, conflict, mistrust and pain, but peace, joy and hope! We are citizens of heaven and the King of Heaven, Jesus Christ, the anchor of soul in these troubled days, is coming soon and will make all things new! So how should that impact how we live in this world? Should it make a difference? You bet! This is what we will be diving into this weekend. Here is an update for all that’s happening…

Church Family Update #35
Re: Covid-19
October 30, 2020

“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve…But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”-Joshua 24:15

Hey Church Family!

It is estimated that the average adult makes 35, 000 conscious choices each day. Let that sink in…35, 000 per day! That works out to approximately 1458 decisions per hour! Not only that, but we have realize that every one of those decisions carries with it consequences that can be both good and bad. Yet, out of all of the choices that we are faced with each day, there is one choice that we cannot compromise on and the consequences from it ultimately determine our faithfulness or faithlessness before God. The question that all else hinges upon is: Who will choose to serve in each moment of each day? This is what we are diving into this weekend! Here is an update for all that’s happening…

SUNDAY SERVICE
This week, pastor Eric Ricard will be bringing God’s Word to us from Joshua 24. We encourage you to pray about whom you can invite to tune in online and hear the good news of the gospel. “Again, Jesus spoke to them saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”-John 8: 12

Hey Church Family!

Question for you: If someone asked you today, “Who is Jesus?” What would you tell them? Would you be able to declare to them who the true Christ is and His work of the gospel? The question, “Who is Jesus?” is increasingly being asked in our world today. Whether it is typed into a search engine on the internet, or asked in conversation at a coffee shop, as we live in these days, more and more people are realizing that the life, the freedom, the ‘messiah’s’’ that this world promises aren’t working and are searching for answers. Ultimately, they are searching for the light of the world Himself. Are we equipped to share the true Christ with them? Who does Jesus say He really is? This is where we are headed this weekend. Don’t miss it! Here is an update for all that’s happening …

Church Family Update #27
Re: Covid-19
September 3, 2020

“Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end.”
-Psalm 119:33

Hey Hope Family,

“Well done good and faithful servant”. Every true Christian longs to hear this from Jesus on the day we meet Him face to face. It is the declaration made from Christ to the one that has endured faithfully to the end amidst the ongoing struggles this life holds, for all those who claim the Name of Christ. Sadly, many start well, but increasingly fewer are finishing well in their walk with Christ. Is it even possible to live a life of enduring faithfulness to Christ in the day in which we live? Be encouraged Loved Ones, the answer is a resounding YES; and God has told us through His Word this can happen as we increasingly ground our lives in Him. But how are we to do this? How are we to live lives of enduring faithfulness and keep His Word to the end? This is where we are headed this weekend as we finish off our Summer Series on Psalm 119! Here is an update for all that’s happening…
