An Update from Hope

Dear Hope Family,
We want to provide an update following our last communication on May 2. While our desire is to gather in worship together, and we are frustrated not to, we continue to see the Lord at work in many ways throughout the church family.

The Ontario lockdown ends June 2nd, and it remains unclear what occurs after that. We are actively planning for large outdoor services at the first possible opportunity as allowed in Stage One. We are excited about this!

In the meantime, we will be opening our building for groups of ten as currently allowed. Group leaders would have seen an email from Pastor Greg Vanderleeuw last week providing an in-person option for those groups or portions of groups that would like to meet in person at the church. In the coming days we’ll create additional options so that more of us who desire to meet with others in person for encouragement and fellowship can do so. Stay tuned.

The petition to open places of worship in Ontario has obtained over 15,000 signatures. Thank you for participating and contacting government officials over the last few weeks. We held meetings with local MPPs Stephen Crawford and Effie Triantafilopoulos regarding the petition and we have been assured that Premier Ford is aware of the petition. We encourage those who haven’t yet contacted your MPP to do so.

Please continue to pray for government leaders and for unity and protection for the church.

We again invite you to reach out to us at Info@HopeOakville.ca or call the church office at 905-827-4888 if you have questions.

“Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.” (Psalm 62:8)

You are loved,
The Elders
